Filter won't go! Grahhhh! Help??

I posted up about this free fluval 303. I set it up... and i can't get it started. My b/f and I fought with that thing for an hour or more, and it just won't push the water through. I think it may have air bubbles stuck in there, but i don't know. All i do know is it's driving me NUTS!

Any ideas/thoughts on this? Thanks

well getting any filter is good to take it apart and clean in. never know what kind of build up is there. 2nd make sure its full of water and the lines are full of water.

Mg- I took everything apart that comes apart (the motor is sealed up) and my b/f ran it in the sink, and it was great.

As far as priming, it said to pull water in via sucking on the outlet house, and I did that (and made a huge f'ing mess) and we filled both hoses.. and it just wouldn't push the water up the hose and out. There were a couple bubbles in the hose that we just couldn't get rid of, so i'm wondering if there are bubbles in the darn motor making it not push the water. My b/f even used the lil pump I use to refill tanks to push water into the inlet, and the pump still couldn't get the water through.

Idk if its just shot from sitting or we're doing something wrong (he's pretty handy though) or if its got air bubbles.

ran it dry or put it in some water and ran it in the sink? is it making any sound at all when you turn it on?

mine doesn't like to turn on sometimes but a good smack wakes it up

i always had this problems with fluval. i suck the air in through the output with my mouth.

Try holding the filter up to water level until it gets going.?

He ran it in the sink with water, not dry.

It does make noise, it even tries to move the water, it just doesnt GO.

We tried lifting it up, and that didn't seem to do much good.

I HAVE to get my 55 set up right now, but once i'm done and my buckets are no longer full of plants, maybe i'll try to set it up with a bucket n screw with it somemore.
