hello setting up my first freshwater tank and am currently looking for a filter so i am wonderin would this one be ok for a 25 gal?

I wouldnt buy it to small of a filter in my opinion.

If you're (ever) going planted, an Eheim 2213 would be a better choice. If not, get a good HOB type filter (AC 70 or something).

Highly recommend the AC's, they work like a charm and last a looooong time.
