I am getting a 75 gal off of Craig's list but the filter that comes with it is to small for the size tank. I am in need of a good economical power filter for this tank. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Thank You.

Aquaclear 110 or emperor 400/penguin 350 would be good with another filter unless you have heavy stock. I found that I needed at least 700 gallons per hour to keep my water free of any particles in my 75 with my 12 inch jaguar cichlid and 2 convicts.

AC110 is a good one

ditto. I actually used 2 in my 72gal bowfront until I changed to a discus tank - left 1 AC110 + a sponge filter & a fluval 204 canister

would be ideal. but if you're on a budget the AC110 is an excellent filter. I even use it on my 20gal - gets all my crud!

try www.kensfish.com or www.bigalsonline.com

I know aquaclears are usually regarded as the best HOB, but you can get 2 penguin 350 for the price of 1 ac110 and have an extra 200 GPH.

I have an Emperor 400 that I am selling for $20, it will need new biowheels and media cartridges. I also have a Fluval 204 canister filter that I am selling for $40. Either of these would be good for your tank. If you ran both you could handle a large bioload. I'm in New Jersey, where are you?

I use an Aquaclear 110 and a Rena XP2 on a 75 gallon cichlid tank with good results.

jump on this if you can!

I'd go with a Fluval 405. I actually have a Fluval 404 and 405 running on my 75g.

Edit: Sorry...just saw "power filter" Yeah...a AC 110 would be good:thumbsup:
