Filters for 240 Gal Freshwater?

Sump size can be used to increase the water volume relatively painlessly, giving you more stability in maintenance. Public aquaria have used this for generations to increase the apparent fish density on display without creating water quality problems. So I have to agree w/OG - it is not possible for a sump to be oversized for me at least.

Make sure....

Be sure to have your new place ventilated because a tank that size will definatly have alot of excess heat and moisture which will be released into the surrounding area... I dont recommend having a tank in your sleeping courters as the excess heat and moisture during the summer time may lead to unsightly heat rashs... :o

LOL, heat rashes. I got a 20 and a 55g in my room now. I'm going to be replacing it with a 150-185g in May. In Vancouver, the summers are nothing compared to cali, so heat rashes are not as big a deal.

On my 220gallon tank I use (2) AquaClear 500's and an Amiracle Maxi-reef 300 wet/dry witha MAG 9 pump for return.

It used to have (2)Eheim 2260's(the biggest they make) and I hated them.

Akidoguy,
I've never dealt with the 2260s. What type of issues were you having with them?

most importantly, how are you going to decorate it:)

I LOVE the styrofoam/cement background I made for my 15, its uber realistic looking and I get giddy just thinking of how ornate and complex it could be in a tank of your size! Nothing looks more natural for a background IMHO
