I am in need of a new filter for my 55gal tank. Right now I have a AquaClear 70 in it, but it's noisy. I'm thinking of buying this one Clickie
The 304 one.

But I have never seen a picture of one set up or heard one before. Does any one have one? and are they quieter then the Aquaclears?

IMO, fluvals are good canister filters.

But about the noise on the AC filter. What kind of noise is it making? If it is the sound of water falling, just add more water to your tank to bring the water level up and it should quiet down.

If it is a rattleing like noise, I had this problem, it is probably your impellor shaft. Try firmly pushing down on the shaft. Once it goes deeper into the housing to give it a tighter fit, it should stop. Worked for me, and I have no more noise.

I also have an aquaclear300, and the only time there is a noise is if the shaft where you regulate the flow is not pushed down all the way, just like MRSDOROTHY said. i love mine.
