my 405 is fine, so are my 2 404s, 3 304s, a 203, and a 303. and i plan on getting more fluvals. they are defnitely the way to go in my book. i wouldnt like the media mixing at all. the carbon would get stuck in the mechanical, the biological would have to be disturbed to clean the other media. now that ive heard that i dont see why so many consider eheim to be the best by far. as far as one doing more with the water while it has it, that depends on how you utilize the media. the way i described is what i have come up with after 10 years of fishkeeping to be the best setup in a fluval.
