Hello everyone!
I just signed up for this site today and am looking to continue my education on this fun but hooking (and expensive lol) hobby. I look forward to learning from everyone on here.
But anyway, I've had a 72 gallon tank for about 5 years now but only recently (~6 months) started really getting into the hobby. I recently purchased an 180 gallon tank and have been really stressed about the filtration system I will run for this rather large tank.
I've looked at some new wet dry systems but they are incredibly expensive (500+ plus) for me. So instead I decided to go with 4 aqua clear 110's.
A couple questions:
1. How effectively will these 4 HOB filters alone work with a tank this size?
2. Are there any other options like a canister filter(s) that I could purchase to work with these 4 HOBs?
I'm 19 years old so I don't really have too much money left to spend (used a bunch of savings to purchase the tank and equipment) so id like to stay away from anything that's too pricey. Im thinking just like a smaller canister filter or 2 that will go along with the HOBs.
Some background information. I plan on keeping South American cichlids in the tank. Also, I will NOT have live plants.
Thank you for any and ALL help I may get. It is GREATLY appreciated as I am going just about crazy right now :huh::huh::huh:
