Would a emperor 350 bio-wheel be enough filtration for a single Oscar in a 75 gallon tank?

Should be, but I prefer canisters.

That will work then!

:grinyes:

get yourself another when you can anyway - built in redundancy is always good

I have a back-up filter. I was just wondering if 1 would be enoughh filtration or if i should run both.

run 'em both anyway

a) just in case
b) so that your back up will be colonised by bacteria - always handy to have a bacteria loaded filter.

What size oscar?

That is not enough filtration, but if the oscar is still small enough it may last for a while. The best thing is a canister as mentioned. I use Fluvals.

They need lots of biological filtration, which the Biowheels should be all that is needed. But they also need a lot of mechanical filtration. For that the best thing is a canister because they literally force the water through, rather than in HOBS backs which allow it to flow around or over the media.
