I currently have a 37 gallon tank that I have had up and running for approximately 4 months. Last week I purchased 1 Parrot Cichlid (2") and 1 Green Terror (2.5"). All of my water parameters are good, but I have noticed that the water seems to have a lot of loose debri floating around. I have been wanting to upgrade to a better filter for a while now so that's not really the problem. What I am wondering is what would you recommend for a filter that I could use now without being to powerful, and would also be good for the 90 gallon I plan to upgrade to when these fish get a little bigger. The quieter the better. Thanks!

Well the same filter is not gonna work for a 37g as a 90g but you could buy one for yoru 37g and plan on getting another of the same when you get the 90g most people w/ large tanks run multiple filters. Rena Filstars are also good models and a little less pricey than the eheims. XP1, XP2 and XP3 are thier standard models. The XP1 would be good for the 90 but might be too much filtration/flow for the 37.
