I have a chance to buy a 55g with hood, lights, filter for $75.Question is: would a Rena XP2 be enough filter, or should I go with the XP3.I will probable run the stock filter with it also. Thanks, jmakley.

Rena's

You should have no problem running the XP2 on a 55 gallon, they are rated for up to 75 gallon tanks. You said you where also going to run your stock filter as well, should be more then adequate. I do not personally own any Rena's so can not speak by experience.

go for the xp3 shouldnt be much more nothing wrong with overfilteration.
.
I just got one from petsmart for 105 dollars for my 75g now I got a eheim 2217 and an xp 3 on it my fiance thinks im crazy.

I would take that deal, and add a cheap HOB like an Aquaclear 50 they run about $25.00.

It doesn't have a XP2 on it,just the stock filter.I want to know if I should buy a XP2 or a XP3 to run with the stock filter.Forgot to add,the deal comes with a black wood stand too.
