I had an outbreak of fungus early this week and moved two mollies and a highfin lyretail sword from my 29G display to a 10G QT. Normally, my mollies and swordtails ignore each other. On day two of the treatment, the swordtail decided it didn't like the mollies moving in on her food and went on the attack. Luckily I had a tank divider handy, but by the time I got it in place both mollies had bite marks on their dorsal and tail fins. My questions are:

1) Should I add an antibiotic to the fungus treatment?

2) Is there some way I can reintroduce these fish back to the display tank that will decrease the chances of the swordtail terrorizing my mollies.

#1 Don't use any meds unless you have to. Just keep the water good and clean and maybe some aquarium salt to discourage any bacteria. If the water is clean, there shouldn't be any need to worry about issues.

#2  Could just be because they were moved to smaller quarters. Once they get back in the larger tank....they might be just fine. Try adding the mollies back first and let them get situated...before putting the sword back in.
