I just noticed this, was sad to see since I have kept pristeen water conditions for my fish . I have one tank with only ramssnails, can I put that fish in with the ramshorn snails and add salt will the ramshorn survive?
How much salt to treat fin rot? what meds?

I have the baby platty being treated with ick, I was going to do a slow water change to remove salt from the hospital tank this week, now this :( help !

this is in my 29 gallon, no nitrites, no amonia, 10 nitrates.

How often do you change the water and how much? Perhaps increasing the frequency might help.

I do water changes 2 times a week. my tanks have perfect water always :( I am wondering if this was from that pet store that has bad tanks. yeah I had to go there and get my cories as I wanted them so bad :lipssealedsmilie: live and learn. thats where I got my guppies a few weeks ago that were covered in ick :wall:

Hmmm...How long do you think have they been in the store? Keeping fish in poor water conditions can weaken them. I would guess that one. What do you feed your cories?

Your finrot case is not really severe. Just do plenty of water changes and add more food to their menu. My original question meant how long have they been in the store's tank, not yours.:) If they had been in there for a long time, this may have weaken them.

There about full grown I believe if not full grown. he had them all winter I know that as he does not order in the winter. around here its winter 8 months of the year! I just did a 30% water change, oh and found the clown pleco  have not seen him but once since we bought him .
So no meds at this time? no antibiotics? just water changes? what kinds of foods? I have frozen blood worms and brine shrimp. but with the 2 back filters the water is constantly moving. my tanks have a good flow rate and movement. so once I add foods there all over the place. the big fish eat it right up, before it hits the bottom, hence thats why I have ebnn giving these guys who do not cvome running when its feeding time to lay the food on the bottom so its there when they come apon it.
I bought sinking wafers for these guys made for corys. I bought them new brine shrimp pellets, and I got them HBH super soft pellets. I have tried zuccini but they do not touch it.

I have fish cillin, I read where this treats fin rot.... what do you think? I hate to have to go buy new meds when i have these capsules.
