A variety of foods is better than any one food. Flakes, catfish pellets, bloodworm, brineshrimp, algae wafers and veg is good. Flakes or pellets should be the staple diet with meaty foods once or twice a week as a treat and veg/algae also once or twice a week for variation.

I went an purchased these foods

1) 4oz Balanced Blend: $3.00
(1) 4oz Beef Heart: $3.20
(1) 4oz Breeders Blend: $3.25
(1) 4oz Brine Shrimp: $3.00
(1) 4oz Earthworm: $3.20
(1) 4oz Hi-Pro Growth: $2.90
(1) 4oz Nutri-Liver: $3.00
(1) 4oz Plankton Krill: $3.20
(1) 4oz Prime: $3.20
(1) 4oz Spirulina: $3.00
(1) 8oz Vegetable Bits: $5.75

you can use melafix and pima fix in the tanks just make sure you have air in there follow directions,on the bottle, treat the tank it won't harm bacteria, or the fish it works very well with finrot keeps everything so it can't grow and helps it heal and keeps the bacteria from getting in to the wounds..so no secondary infection, i have used it many times its all i use if you catch it in time you can treat it very fast, follow directions on bottle i use it in my 90g tropical tank with all kinds of cories and they do great, just make sure you have good airation, for it bubbles a bit at first. then water change the h*ll out of it after treatment to keep it clean so no one else gets it..it's all natural..

both melafix and pimafix? ok, but where to get it :( I will look on line now.
will any of my pleco's get sick from the meds? I have 2 HOBs on the back of my tank, rated each for 50 gallon tanks so this should be good right?

any chain store petsmart, petco, even walmart carries melafix, not sure if they carry pima or not.. its best to use both to be sure, one is for fungal infections athe other for baterial, use an airstone for a while if you don't have one then lower you water level so the water spills in the tank kinda hard so it get bubbles down a bit just to stir the water up a bit..it really dosent bother most fish but if you want the first dose just under dose it a bit, till the next day, make sure you read both bottles for amounts as they are different, also some bottles could be consentrated as for pond use so make sure, i use the pond ones cause i have a lot of tanks and it goes a longer while..
