Hey PlantBrains, or anyone else that knows, Why has my Tiger Lotus started melting? It has done well for 6 months, but now, it is sickly.

I dose complete Flourish line 2X per week at double dosage.
KNO3 to 10 ppm.
CO2 is 25ppm.
12 hour photo period
4.26 WPG
Temp is 80
Weekly 50% water change.

I suspect temp might be the cause. The fan in my hood, burned out about a month ago. I was keeping the temp at 76.

I had a heaters control element go out once which stuck the heater on, and the resulting heat spike caused some of my plants in that tank to start melting. First victims were my Wendtii, next was apongentons and foxtail.

Then I replaced the heater and slowly the plants have come back. Although the foxtail I completely pulled to avoid a decomposition spike and replaced with clippings from other tanks, the Wendtii and apons came back from thier roots up.

BTW, that is a GOREGEOUS tank. You have that lovely green carpet effect I still dream of. heh

Your plants are looking great!

Shift, what is that cover plant?

Man what a nice tank. Its perfectly laid out at that.... Awesome...

I was curious what is the ground cover plant? I am looking for somthing like that. I have riccia but my darn barbs pull at it when I try to anchor it. Does that plant reproduce fast? What I mean spread without re-planting?

Thanks for the info....

Spank....

Spank,
the ground cover is glossostigma elantinoides. It grows fast and spreads out by itself, if there is enough light, co2, etc...

Shift,
Great tank, great glosso. You are setting it back up after the move aren't ya? Be sure to keep us updated when you do that.
