Finally a BIGGER tank!

Oh trust me, I am resealing the WHOLE THING!!! I am at this very moment taking a quick smoke break from splitting seams on the joints so I can sand and polish the edges, before resealing them.

A few touchups would have probably got me by, but I want to make sure that every drop of water that exits the tank is on purpose, thru a drain hose lol, not a seam.

And kid evo

So here's some progress from today:

This is how I remove the joint bracing and split the seams.

You can see why I need to remove the joint bracing.

Another shot of the removal and a few of the bulkheads.

And some of the removed material so far.

that is some thick glass u r working with there.:)

It is going to take a long time to reseal the whole thing, but u r doing pretty good so far.

I can't wait to see pics of it with fish in it.

Do you intend to try and buff the front of it to get rid of some of the scratches? Probably wont be extremely noticeable once its full but as long as it is all torn apart...might as well?

This thing is getting basically completely rebuilt.
Heres a quick to do list:
-It's getting 100% sanded and polished.
-All seams and seals resealed and braced.
-All pre-existing bulkhead holes enlarged for 1.5" bulkheads with 2 more added.(total of 5 on top).
-New overflow boxes fabricated and installed(all 4 corners).
-Waterchange drain bulkhead added at 50% level.
-Stand modified to house 135g 6ft sump.
-Build 135g sump with 80g wet/dry.
-Install 3000-4000gph return pump.
-Figure out crazy network of plumbing.
-Install 1000w heater and controller.
-Make custom oak wood pillars to cover plumbing at all 4 corners.
-Make custom canopy with four 48" dual t5 lights.
-Install moon lights.
-Make aquarium lids/hinges.
-Make stand cover woodwork.
-Wash 600+lbs of sand.
-Find giant Mangrove tree stump and roots.
-Build DIY foam/concrete background.
I think that's all of it lol. You can see I will be busy lol

all i can say is good luck :) cant wait to see the finished product

Tedious work.

4 FEET TALL! That's like a record for 48 inches tall with respect to home aquarium water column height, the acrylic must be 2 inches thick. Wow please post some pics when filled and congratulations that is an awesome size!

Oops sorry didn't realize the post had this much history already, but looks like you have the situation well in hand, I like that patch and strengthening idea should really give the tank some strength and hidden inside as well, BRAVO-ZULU:thumbsup:
