Something stung me in the tank today...

I've gotten that occasionally from reaching in the tank. Never have figured out what does it. Never really bothers me much, but I don't have any major allergies so not sure if it can be worse for others.

I have an anaphylactic reaction to bee stings...so we'll see

Looks like bubble tip steaks? Might want to get that checked out if it's still swollen or red especially if your have those types of reactions already.

Had my mom look at it (she's an er nurse) and she said to take some Benedryl and walk it off lol. Nothing's happened so far, I'm wagering I'll be ok. Itchy has heck though.

Ya, just rub some dirt on it. You'll be fine :)

Glad you're ok Bally. This did get me thinking though, I am allergic to shellfish. If I eat shrimp or crab or something like that, my throat closes up and I can't breath. Would a sting from a coral have an adverse effect on me? What about a Lion Fish? We have an 80 gallon reserved for setting up for a lion fish.

Lion fish and anemone stings, from what I've read, have the same effect as a bee and jellyfish sting.

I have no problems with bee stings. I was just concerned about the aquatic toxins if they would affect the same as consuming shell fish.

I will let Kashta be the hands in the tank girl when we get the lion fish. Better safe than sorry.
