Finally got that salt tank...

So turns out my light was on back order when I ordered it and they just decided to inform me today after I emailed and questioned them. Supposedly they had emailed me yesterday but I never received one and I've had my left hand replaced with an iPhone so I doubt I "just missed it". Here is my email in response, we'll see what happens.

ordered it on the 28th and didn't hear anything until supposedly yesterday. I didn't receive an email then but I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to technological error.*

This is extremely frustrating, as I planned my entire tank upgrade around the arrival of this light and now my plans are delayed, which greatly caused problems on my end.*

I hope this situation can be remedied swiftly and efficiently or sadly I will require a refund and have to leave a review reflecting my disappointment.*

Nice email. Can't wait to hear their response.

So, how are the little gobys doing?

Their response...
We don’t expect to receive any more of these fixtures for at least a few weeks. We carry other brands of fixtures. For example, we have the WavePoint 36 Inch 4 lamp fixture for $199.99. It provides the same amount of light as the Current USA fixture. It only has 1 power cord and switch, so all the lights come on at the same time (as opposed to the 2 power cords and switches that the Current USA fixture has). The WavePoint fixture doesn’t use any cooling fans, so it will run pretty quietly. If you’d like, we can substitute this fixture in place of the Current USA fixture, and we would refund you the difference ($18.96).

If you’re interested in a different lighting fixture, or if there is anything else you would like, let us know.

I requested a refund and have not heard from them since.

Well, it appears they lost a customer. I'd be doing the same thing, but with a few choice words thrown in the review... :)

Have you tried Foster and Smith? They are pretty reliable.

Iwas reading about that light and it says I would cover 20-24" and the tank I want is going to be 36". I can't afford two of those lights.

Interestingly enough I recently ran across this thread for 57 gallon which has the same dimensions of a 40B and is running a single Kessil.

I really think you will be fine with the coverage with lower light corals out on the edges. These lights are getting some good reviews. Kessil has been making LED lights for the "indoor gardner" for a long time (longer than most aquarium LED applications) so they got a head start. The main issues I have with them are (1) price..but I can pretty much say the same for most quality LED fixtures and (2) the idea of only having one spectrum of light without some supplemental lighting or another Kessil of a different spectrum. They are supposed to be releasing a dimmable a350 soon which sounds very promising.
