Well, I gotta say, it was worth the wait, even tho I almost missed it ! Here's a little background: I have had 2 male L400s for over 2 years. For almost as long I have been looking for a coupla 3 females. About 2 or 3 weeks ago, I won an auction on AB for 5 adult (3m/2f) 400s. They arrived about 2 weeks ago and I set them up in their own tank with my 2 males. I figured they would need some time (I thought a few months) to settle in. Wrong ! The other day (Sunday) I was doing my weekly water changes, and I'm vacuuming their tank, getting the mysis and brine shrimp I had fed them the day before. Then I look closely at the vacuum tube, and holy crap, something is swimming in there ! I quickly shut off vac, and down swims a tiny little white pleco with his/her egg sack still attached ! I still think I vac-ed a couple up and down the drain, but I don't know for sure. I found 1 more that was dead, and so far that is it. I never saw eggs, or more than 1 fish in a cave. And I never expected it to happen so quick ! So I have at least 1. There may be more because my caves are pretty tight when the males are in them and I can't see around them. I'll keep an eye out. Too soon for a pic (I need a better camera, too ), but I'll eventually get some. In the meantime, here is one of the original males. I have no idea who the mom and dad may be. Guess I better wake up and get with the program !

2 lonely Male plecs living alone for 2 years
+ 2 cute female plecs move into the neighborhood
= Baby Plecs

Congrats! Now get with that program!! You've been on hold wayyyyyyyyyy too long!!:thm:

Congrats. I used to breed the common pleco. I fed the babies boiled squash chips, cooked firm and not too soft. I changed the chips every few hours before they spoil. Plecos are suckers and the squash diet proved to be very effective. Hope it works for you too.

Great!!! If they did it once they'll do it again!!!! And you'll be ready this time for sure!!!!
