Hey everyone, been a while since I posted any pics! The pictures are of my male Kribensis and his new girlfriend, I just got her last week and you should see how pink her belly is now! When I got her from the store she had no pink at all, I actually thought she was a he but apparently not! The pictures show her pink okay, but shes much more pinker in person. Also, my male has colored up a bit too with a light pink belly, his stripe is actually black now (was a dull grey) and his fins seem to have gotten brighter now with this new female in the tank. Funny how females have that effect on males!
He does seem to chase her a bit when she gets in his "territory" or to close to him but other then that they are tolerating each other. The other pictures are of my big male (i think??) Pearl Gourami. He was just tiny when I got him, about 1.5-2 inches, and now hes gotta be pushing 4.5 inches. Hope you like!
Oh yeah! I was going to ask, does anyone know why when the male krib chases her away, she will swim away and then stop and kind of curve/arch her body towards him? Then he will stop chasing too, look at her then swim away. I've seen her do this about 3 times now, but who knows how much she is actually doing it when i'm not there you know. Anyway, i'm done now haha, thanks for looking!!
