I spoke with the LFS again, and they said I could try to feed him freeze dried blood worms and then later on try to feed him pellets. This may make the transition easier for him. down the road.
His Oscar friend looks about twice as big as the JD now.
I'm afraid that the O may use him as a snack unless he packs on some girth.
