Fire Belly Toad ?'s

still no eggs, i rearranged the other side of the tank, and the lethargic green one is now exploring but the new brown one is still staring intently at the plant that goes into and above the water...

I was kind of hoping to be able to get other animals with the FBT's, but I'm thinking about building a anole/tree frog 20 gallon set-up in a few more months so I'll just have to wait untill then.

They were at it again this morning, one frog flipped the other on its back, and did its thing.

What do I need for tadpole growout if I find eggs?

When these frogs breed they do not flip each other over. This behavior sounds more like territorial agression than breeding. During breeding the males will croak loudly to call to the females. Once they have found each other, the male will stay near her until she enters the water. At this time he will jump on her back and clasp her waste squeezing very tightly. He may croak here but not always. She will release eggs and he will release sperm. This period of hold can last up to an hour and may take several tries to get it right.

I've seen them on top of each other before, I'm not sure of how long. I have heard noises coming from the tank when I'm really still or out of sight, and today I investigated and saw one flip the other.

I'll build a few more hides when I redesign their tank sometime this week (probobly friday or sunday), and would they croak for anything other than breeding?

they can't climb but are good jumpers. My mom was sick of them (mostly the mealworms in the fridge), and so they had an "accident" apparently.
