Fire shrimp not eating?

Have a 24G Nanocube with 2 chromis, 1 royal gramma, 2 turbos, 6 hermits, and a fire shrimp (no corals), and I feed about half a cube of diced frozen prime reef in the morning, and about a quarter cube + a dozen or so formula one pellets at night - everything seems to enjoy and eat well except the fire shrimp, which hides in his cave all day and all night, never really coming out to feed (that I can see).

I know there are quite a few pods in his area which he may be eating, but what's normal for fire shrimp? Should I try to find some meaty food that they like? Liveaquaria says they're definitely carnivores ( http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=697&N=0 ), though he doesn't seem interested ...

I would try feeding at night when actinics are on, they become more active then, and try turning the pumps off for like 5 mins so there is no flow and the shrimp can easily catch the food

I doubt he's starving. You're feeding plenty of food, and fire shrimp will scavenge through the rock and substrate after lights out. Skip a few days (everything will be fine), and then see if the shrimp doesn't come out when food is added.

I awoke this morning to a fresh molt - so I'm assuming that's good news. Fed him this morning (before I saw the recommendation to skip) with a turkey baster directly in front of his cave (not really a cave, but a piece of live rock shaped almost like an inverted apple with a with about a 3"x1" hole through it).

I'm reassured by the molt, so I'll assume I'm just insane and overprotective

Do you have good iodine Levels?
