Fire Worms

I bought my tank used and there were a lot of the bristleworms. I starved them out a bit and they died off. I still have some and I want them mind you but it was good to get rid of some by just feeding the fish a bare minimum for a few days.

just a quick question, but, how did you manage to starve them out?

Niko

actually I wondered that as well? just not feed the other inhabitants or barely feed them?

Ours are in the QT tank with no fish at the moment, we do feed the shrimp and sun coral though.

even though food is not being added to the tank, scavengers like bristle worms have a "huge" food source on the live rock and sand, and for them to be starved, they would have to be in an enviroment that is totally devoid of life....think about the bristle worms that live in stored live rock at the places you buy it from...they dont get food added to the vats...there is no sand to host food, and they still survive.....

Well our tank at the moment has no sand either LOL.. just bare bottom until the new tank turns up..

So I think a trap for is the best option I had heard FW dips work but don't want to kill off the other good stuff on the LR... like I said i'm not bothered about the little ones. but a couple that come out in the day are BIG!
