These are pics of my Firebelly Toad tank with 3 zebra danios and 2 white clouds in a custom built 5.5 gallon "section". There are no live plants in the water but on the land, all the plants are live and thriving. I have 3 Chinese FBT and 2 European FBT. Below the tank is a 10G cricket tank - FOOD!!!.

The water fall is powered by a Fluval 3Plus that is hidden by land. The aquarium is "L" shaped and has lots of nooks and crannies.

Is caring for the terrestrial plants difficult?
Not at all - it is even easier than if they were in regular plant pots. I have a flood/drain regiment I do. Since the water from the aquarium floods over alot I have a tube placed in the land part to drain water if it is too much. However, I do keep some water in the land part - in the gravel area - not the soil. The plants love it.

The african violet, I was afraid it would do bad because it does not like its leaves to get wet. The toads love perching on them and it is doing well. It took some time for it to flower because apparently it needed to "bind" its roots before flowering.

Another note - I had 3 white clouds - but one was eaten by a toad. It is a risk. No more have they attempted to eat the fish for at least a year now.

Even the fish do not mind or not affected by the toads toxins. All of them eat well, socialize well and are quite active.

Thanks!!!
