I'm in the process of moving some non cichlid fish out of my 55g and putting them in another tank. My 2 tiger barbs have had to keep their aggression to a minimum because the other fish are paradise gouramies, a few young africans, and a few other fish. I know some of these fish do not belong together and this will be the least of my problems.
I just thought it was odd that the firemouth chooses to mess only with the larger tigerbarb when they are near each other. The tiger barb is smart enough to start swimming faster when near the firemouth. Both fish seem to stay near bottom, so they cross pathes more.
