hi i have a 50 gallon with 4 bolivian rams, 2 angels, a bristlenose pleco and a clown pleco.

i am thinking of adding a new fish and was wandering what opinions were on addind a firemouth?

I wouldn't add a more aggressive CA cichlid into an already established SA tank...what about keyholes?

I definitely would not add a firemouth. Like pugwash said, a peaceful SA like the keyholes or Laetacara curviceps is a better choice, although based on what you have in that tank, I would be hesitant to add more cichlids.

:iagree:

keyholes are a great cichlid a bit drab in color but they are peaceful.
also you may be able to add festivum.

yeah- probably asking for problems i suppose, i will have to have a cichlid tank one day!

a school of tetra would definitely fill up the upper part of the tank. what do you reccomend- i like rummy nose, do you think they would fall prey to the angels in the long run?

Rummies are excellent choice for a tank such as yours.
They are also "canaries of the coal mines" in aquariums. Their colors fade quickly when water parameters are off or there is a lot of stress. They will tell you if there any problems right away.
Rummies are also excellent schoolers. They keep tight schools vs. loose shoals. Nice effect!

yeah your right it is a bit of a cichlid tank i suppose! as for the rummies i would definatly like to get a few in if possible- do you think im in any danger of over stocking though?

50gallon,
4 bolivian rams
clown plec
bristle nose plec
2 angels
+6 panda cories to come.

if i could fit in the rummies i would definatly love to, but wouldnt want to cause problems. what do you think? could i fit a small school in as well? or maybe should i forget about the pandas??
