Firemouth tankmates

I currently have a firemouth in my 38 gallon. could i put two more firemouths with him and maybe some other smaller fish? what would be good tankmates?

you could probably get away with 2 more, but i would recommend only 1 if you want to put in other fish.

what kind of fish were you thinkin of like cichlids or some commmunity/other fish?

Do firemouths make good community fish or not, I have heard yes and I have heard no. I have a tank with silver dollar, clown loaches, festivm, rosy barb, dwarf gourami, bala sharp, rainbow shark, and a sword tail(girlfriends fish)

firemouths yes, other Thorichthys species not at all.
