so im down to the one firemouth in my 35 hex, i put the beet up one in the 20long (for now) i was wondering if i would do better to put a pair of yellow labs in the tank, in sted of the firemouths

a pair of yellow labs will likely kill each other in that footprint; either two males or two females (almost a certainty) or a male and a female (most likely the male will harass the female to death).

They need to be kept as single specimens in an appropriately sized rift lake set-up, or as a harem of 1 male to 3 or 4 females. You don't have the space to do either of these in a 35 Hex.

could i put like 4 rams or 2 kribs in there and make it a community tank

Whichever rams you are talking about, get only one species and a pair or a trio at that. As for kribs, it would work but not for long once they spawn.
