First Experience with Invertebrates

Today I picked up a few ghost shrimp for my 5 gallon planted tank. I have been inspired by this forum and wanted to share. They are truly fascinating!

I started with ghost shrimp since they were cheap and I wasn't sure how my betta was going to act. It took him a while to notice and I watched as he spotted the shrimp and slowly swam down to the bottom of the tank. He looked at them then went really close. The shrimp he was viewing just turned and walked right across the betta! It was hilarious to see my betta literally shake his head then swim back up to the top ignoring them completely

My betta is the same way. I watched a shrimp hitch a ride on his underside the other day! Latched on at one end of the tank, let go at the other. Crazy.

Inverts are an addiction in their own right....

i wish my betta was that nice to inverts!! Mine is on a constant search and destroy mission if housed with ANY inverts.
