:hi: Hi everyone!

I currently have a 20g tank that I'll be putting 2-3 n. brichardis in. Most resources I've checked say that they will get along peacefully with other fish, but I figured I'd ask you guys for your opinion.

Would a 20g with 2 of these, along with maybe 4-5 harlequin rasboras and a dwarf pleco work?

Thanks in advance to everyone that helps with their 2 cents

definitely NOT. the only fish which should be kept with African cichlids are other African cichlids. optimally, you'd keep 4 brichardi in that 20 and call it full.

Thanks for your input! (I'm sure the rasboras are grateful) Would there be any other similar sized cichlids that I might consider for variety? Maybe 2 of each, or something like that...

Been doing some more research - how would red tail rams (i think it's the same as bolivian ram?) get along with the brichardi?

Thanks again!

Dude, Ram's are from South America, not Africa. You really do not want to mix fish from different continents. Possibly something from Lake Tanganyika though.

Have a look at this article about brichardi: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/n_brichardi.php

Hopefully, you'll find it informative.

:duh: sorry for my crashing ignorance... all of this info can be quite overwhelming at first. the page was very helpful, I think I'll go with the original advice of 4 (or maybe just 3) brichardis.

thanks again!

yeah, like they're really close on this map;)
