I've heard nothing but very good things about Kenny's discus. He's local to me so next time I get discus they'll most probably be from him.

Kulhi loaches are OK up to ~82F, adult discus temps. Most hillstream loaches like more flow & lower temps than discus (more oxygenation really). Check out loaches.com & seriouslyfish.com
yeah i lookedi into the hill stream loaches but it seemed like I would have to build in some serious flow and it did look like cooler temps so for now i think im going to plan on kuhli loaches

Paul summed it up very well. I can only echo researching on 'Simply' & choosing a quality source for your discus. My choice was Discus Hans http://discus-hans-usa.com/ . Whomever you choose will be 'overnighting' the fish to you. No worries, they are packed well for travel. I've been to Hans place to purchase & have ordered online as well. Quality product & excellent service. All the vendors listed on the forum have excellent stock but this one I know first hand. Good luck! "T"

Connor, you are in good hands here if you follow the guys advise, keep in mind any tank that has discus in it is a discus tank, everything else is secondary. Requires patients and a lot of work(maintenance). You got a great start here with all the advice, specially with fish-less cycle. I just helped a friend go trough it with Dr. Tim's one and only nitrifying bacteria, and it does work if you want to take that route when you are ready.
