I'm expecting... not quite me, but one of my Shrimp is. My first.
It's a Red Cherry Shrimp, spotted it Sunday(I think Valentine's Day had something to do with it). She's the darkest one I have, and she's been dark for some time now, in a bare bottom tank. I recently added 10-12 RCS to the tank from an RAOK gift. Before that, there were only 2 females in the tank.
I've been watching her(still no great photo-ops yet), and she still has the eggs, they're yellow. I knew something was up when I saw the males swimming around franticly, like they lost something(their virginity most likely in this case). I'm pretty excited.
The tank is unheated, bare-bottom, and has no filtration. It's a 10G tank, with some plants, and a lot of duckweed. It's lit by a 15W Bulb. I'll most likely either move her, or the Endlers in the tank to safeguard her babies. How long should it take for the babies to hatch? The temp is around 74-78.
I'll post pics as soon as I can get a clear shot.
