Fish adjusting to new tank

I recently bought a male guppy. I acclimatised him just like the others and I have been noticing that he is staying around the bottom of the tank a lot.

He will swim if there is food, but then go right back to his spot and lay there. He is not on his side, but him laying at the bottom is raising some alarms for me as my fish in the past would do that before they would get sick and die.

Should I just give him more time to adjust? or should I put him in quarantine?

I think guppies do well in schools. Get him some friends! :nilly:

He has two females in there so he is not lonely

hmm idk how long exactly he has been in there but maybe he needs time to adjust and if he is eating that at least is a good sign
maybe throw some hiding spots in there (srry maybe you have alot already)
since you already put him in the tank maybe putting him into a quarantine will be too much stress but that personal choice really

Any new arrival will need a few days to adjust to its surroundings. Its like if you were taken out of you house and put somewhere you know nothing about.

How are you acclimating?? Drip acclimation does the best job in MY Opinion. My new arrivals will stay in one section of the tanks at times right after I release them, after a few hours they are all over the tank.

It is also a good idea to quarantine any new fish to observe them for disease before they go in the main tank. Unless you dont care about possibly infecting your tank. Guppies like schools of atleast 6.
