After I put in my DIY CO2 diffusor on one side of my 10g tank my cardinal tetra are nit going to that side or the far right middle,so are they afraid of the CO2? How do I fix this problem. Oh I have 10 cardinal tetra's they also love being near the heater for some reason.

May be the yeast protein they smell. Try running the hose into a sealed 20 oz bottle half full of water. Put the exhaust under the water in the bottle and run another hose above the water line going from the bottle to the tank. This should help reduce the proteins and smell of the DIY yeast.

Here is the quickest link i could find for a picture/diagram

Also give them some time to get used to having this bubbling thing in their tank. Some get curious and go closer, some react the opposite.

I also have a diy bubble counter made out of a syringe would that count as a sepererator you suggested?
