Fish Aggression, white spots and a request for advice...

FW dips gets rid of the parrasite by shocking it so it falls off the host fish....it doesn't kill them...when i done my yellow tang for black ich i would dip him in the FW then net him give a gentle shake in the net to knock the rest of the parrasites off then transfer to another bucket just with my tank water and then finally use another net to put him back in the tank....i did this 3 times and it got rid of the ich.

Freshwater dips are a good way to get rid of the cysts but you're tank may still be infested with the free swimming stages of the ich so you're just putting the fish back into an infected tank. The only real way to get properly rid of ich is to leave the tank fallow for 6-8 weeks. People may disagree but thats my understanding and opinion.

Ha! Old post.

Coral Beauty was returned and traded for a lemonpeel angel

Tang mercilessly killed lemonpeel angel.

Tang died and was eaten by my anemone.

Remaining fish were QTed, and both clowns survived and are currently in my 29g.

damsels were returned and replaced with chromies

All is once again well.

:)
