i had a thread earlier this week about getting a FL bulb for my 10gallon tank

well i picked up 2 from my local walmart ..put them in my tank and now the fish wont come out from hiding while it is on

what should i do? could it actually be too bright for them?

Yup... I echo above...

What fish are they? There's a chance that they are more used to shade in the wild too, not that it really affects things... fish can always learn to cope.

,,,

ok everything is safe though?...i thought i was going to have to take the lights back...

i have cave on the right and two lava rock holes to hide in..and plants on other side..

there is 2 cories which are fine with the light
4 neons,2 cherry barbs,2 gold barbs, and 1 green barb

yeh thats fine. They will get used to it. As with most things... just takes time.

I use to have this problem as well. I solved it first turning on my room lights or opening up the window blinds whenever and letting them adjust to new light entering the room, then later I proceed to turn on the tanks lights. Try this, it worked for me!
