Fish & changing water

I have a new 29 gallon tank.

When i do my first water change i plan on doing about 25%. I leave the fish in it right, (silly question I know) Does the new water need to be close to the same temp as whats in the tank already? And will the new water need to be coditioned in anyway.

I just dont want to shock the fish.

yes, you will leave the fish in there, the water should be as close as possible to the temp in the tank, and you should use a water conditioner to remove the chlorine/chloramines as you put te new water back into the tank..... with that, your fish should be fine

... And don't worry about shocking the fish, as long as the tap water is the same chemistry as the water in your aquarium (like pH, temperature, etc.), then you can add as much water as you'd like. Just don't do any 100% water changes, this is almost never necessary and can shock the fish a bit.

And strive to do this weekly for healthier fish. Unless of course this is a newly set up tank that isn't cycled then I suggest doing a water change everyday for the first week or so.
