I have a 10 gallon tank with:

3 male Fancy Guppies
2 female Guppies
2 Corys
1 African Dwarf frog

I am looking at getting 1 or 2 fish that swim in the middle of tanks. I am wondering on what breeds are compatible with the fish already inhabiting my tank. I'm interested in black-skirted tetras or other tetras. Any suggestions are welcome.
 
The only fish that I would add is more female guppies. The males will end up harrassing them to death or else they will fight each other over the ladies.

Or else get more cories as they are social fish that do best in schools.

Your tank isn't really big enough to hold more fish. Most tetras require lots of swimming room and larger school. And black skirts are known to be fin nippers, so they could well attack and kill your guppies.

Small tanks like 10 gallons are generally best suited to be species only tanks as most (not all) smaller fish do best in schools.
 
I have 6 guppies (2 males and 4 females)

3 platys all female

1 pleco

1 crab

these get along fine in my 10 gallon

maybe, I'm lucky I dunno, but if you want to play it safe you could consider trading some of yours in at the lfs
 
deffinitly get a couple more females just for their own sake. also rob doesnt your crab need some place to get out of water at some point. and also doesnt it suggest a slight brackish environment for the crab?

I was told he would be fine in freshwater:confused:

and he doesn't have any problems getting out:mad:
