Fish compatibility

I found this site browsing through the internet, and I like the way they did their chart, where you can select a fish and see what other species it is compatible with or select two types of fish and see if they go together.

I like the way they did it, I can't say I agree with some of the results.

Please tell me you don't agree that you can't put clown loaches with Angelfish ? I am planning on getting two clown loaches for our new 80g once it cycles, and my husband wants Algelfish there too. I read that they are both peaceful fish, but clown loaches are more active, so maybe that's the reason why they are not recommended to be put into one tank. Any thoughts?

I too disagree with some of the results. The bad thing about trying to set rules for compatability is that fish don't always follow them

But I do have to say they do a fair job of setting some general rules...

Angels and loaches aren't a good mix because the hyper loaches are active mostly at night, and this can seriously disturb angels. It sometimes works, but don't count on it. Mixing large, active nocturnal fish with peaceful, diurnal fish often causes problems.

Most compatibility charts are a mix-sometimes right on, sometimes the result of 1 or 2 short term trials. Even with the best research, it's important to watch your fish, and see if they are getting along.
