Is there any fish that you can keep with turtles? My turtles are Red Eared Sliders and they're rather peaceful, and I have a 50gallon aquarium for them, only half filled, is there a way that I can keep fish with them or no?

Assuming the waste load isn't too high for the 25ish gallons, it's tough to guarantee fish can live with turtles. I'd hit up petco/smart dollar fish sales and get the fastest ones. Places to hide help

Red-ear sliders like many species of turtles are predatory.

Many years ago I saw a 8" painted turtle take a 6" perch in a lake. My LFS gives the turtles feeder fish.

The only thing you can keep with turtles is another turtle.

Darn I was hoping that that wasn't the case and that you could keep something possibly in with them, but obviously that's not the case. Alright.

I actually cleaned my red eared sliders tank on friday to find the treats( rosy reds) i gave a month ago were still alive... Actually thriving. I put in 4 rosy reds and by the time i cleaned there was about 15. But without a doubt, if there were no hiding places, they will become food.

My Red Eared Slider is too lazy to catch and eat fish. I've kept all kinds of fish in with him. Right now he makes green water to fed my daphnia cultures and lives with about a dozen Gambusia holbrooki.

Keep in mind that lethargy is generally a sign of an unhealthy turtle. This isn't directed at Dennis's turtle, just adding to his post. There are healthy lazy ones
