Just wish to check with you guys what if your planted tank happened to have some fish that is ill. I know it is logical to take them out and treat them. But the problem is what if the tank is quite big, like 50G. Removing them can very a problem. And are medication very harmful to the plants?

I've tried to be really careful on the quarantine for anything added to my large planted tank and have been lucky so far not to get a disease. If a fish catches a disease which can be spread to the other fish in the tank, then you will most likely have to treat the whole tank or risk losing all your fish. This certainly does point out the high importance of a good quarantine. A lot of the medications will kill off your plants really good.
