Fish don't sleep, eh?

pretty cool pic!

Happens all the time with my plecos...then the mad dash to latch onto something when they "wake" up.

My female betta likes to sleep in her "hammock", a plastic banana plant leaf that i float in her tank. Sometimes she's so deeply asleep that i can wave my hand frantically in front of her and she goes on snoozing. scared me the first time, thought she was dead.

So i gave both the boys "hammocks", and they ignore them completely... go figure... never can please a man! lol.

thought i would show you all a pic of Mosie sleeping in her "hammock". it's not the greatest photo, lid is in the way, but if i opened the lid, she would wake up....

i recently realised my female bristlenose pleco was doing this exact behavior described. i still thought she was dying until reading this. it was wierd because when i made a noise she moved back to normal and she ate like normal so she appeared healthy. this is a relief!
