Fish dying… (Please read Updated 05/05/05)

I have lost 1 bala (3 day ago), 1 dwarf Gourami (today), I black molly(2 days ago), 2 Blue rams (1 week).
I have been Checking the water every 2 day for any spikes
The tank has been running for almost 3 months
PWC 50% every week on SAT

Temp:
pH: 6.6 ~ 7.2
Ammonia (=0
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 10
KH = 7
GH = 4

CO2 DIY 2*2Lt bottle & DIY power reactor

The only thing that has changed is the PH, when the Mixture is dyeing out.
Please help..
I don’t want any other fish to die.

Right now I have
4 clown loaches (1.5 inches)
3 mollies (2* 2inches & 1*1 inch)
1 Red Dwarf Gourami (1 inch)
4 Zebra D (4*1 inch)
4 Tetras (4*0.75 inch)
2 neons (2*0.5 inch)

Is there any way your test results are not accurate? Like the drops/strips are expired or something? Are the fish that died newer additions, or have you had them for awhile?

no all were add 2.5 months ago.
Test are AP brand and new. (i think, i will check when i get home)

Also some time i will see some fish on the surface of the water ..
they seem to be gulping air. Then they go on their merry way..
(@ all times during the day&night)
I have no surface agitation. Could there be oxygen deficiency?
or the PH swings

BTW - The tank is moderately planted.

I'm sure you'll get better responses, but I would think it might be the lack of surface agitation, because don't the plants use up alot of oxygen ? (not familiar with planted tanks, too lazy as of yet myself!!). Wish I could be more helpful

i think you need some surface agitation or something to provide some more oxygen. your fish sound like they are lacking enough oxygen.
what type of filtration do you have?

try lowering your water level, that can give you more surface agitation. I also read that gulping air can be a sign of internal parasites. I'm a newbie so wait and get someone with more knowledge to try and help you.

this is true, maybe your fish have a parasite thats killing them off? i would first do a water change of at least 25% to see if that helps. than treat with maracyn or some sort of medication that treats internal parasites.

I am always a bit leery of adding medicine without a clear idea of what is wrong, since medications can often do as much harm as good.

I found this list of issue on one site under gasping:

O2 deficiency, CO2 excess, tank too hot, toxins, shock

Since it seems like adding the CO2 is the most recent thing you changed, I might recommend pulling the CO2 to see if maybe that is the factor. You may also want to think about whether anything has been added to the tank recently that might have introduced a toxin.

If you do want to try treating for parasites as well, I did just order a parasite treatment that says it will not harm anything in the tank, and which sounds like it is effective against most internal parasites:

Based on my research, it sounds like a good choice, though I have not yet used it.

Condolences for the fish you have lost, and best of luck for the remaining ones!
