Fish eating my plants?

Hey everyone.........I have the following live plants in my 55g tank:

3 plants of Water Wisteria
Cabomba
Those bulbs you get at Walmart.........all of mine are growing nicely

Anyways, my Wisteria is almost down to nothing but stems. There is usually a bunch of leaves floating in my tank everyday. My Cabomba is growing tall, but is looking like it's thinning out a lot towards the bottom. My bulbs I got from walmart though are growing nicely and doesn't seem like anything's wrong with them. I have Angels, Platys, Swordtails, Mollys, Corys, and 1 Pleco in my tank. Could any of these fish be why my Wisteria is looking so bad? When I get my new lighting system for my all planted tank, should I not get anymore Wisteria if it's the fish eating them? Thanks!

the angels platys swordtails mollys and pleco are likely culprits.

what kind of pleco is it?

It's a common pleco. I may be getting rid of him soon though

common plecos are much more voracious eaters than the smaller ones (they'll also go after the slime coats off your other fish once they're about half sized.. 6 or 8 inches)

i'd guess that it's either him or the livebearers.. as i said before, it could be the angel but normally they will only go after live plants if they're otherwise unfed.

we got to a point where we just gave up keepign plants in our livebearer tank. we're gonna try again when we upgrade.. we're hoping that more space = more plants = less agression per plant... but i dunno.

My plecos will eat almost any plant. They have pretty much demolished my bulb lilies and have sucked most of the leaves dry on my other plants. Try tying some spinach or other leafy plant to a rock to feed them. Mine devour it in a day. If I replace the food when it's gone, they leave the plants alone. Also, try grapes and other fruit since plecos are largely herbivorous. Hope this helps.
