I have recently set up a 10g tank. Right now there are two neon tetras and a molly in the tank. I am wanting to put the molly in another tank and stock the tank with about 6-10 small fish. I was wondering what are some fish that stay relatively small that would work well in the tank. Thank for any information.

I have my 10g a little over-stocked if it wasnt a really really planted tank (use up all the ammonia and nitrates and such), I have 3 otos, 2 panda corys, 1 SAE, 2 Kuhli loaches, 1 darter, 1 male thread fin rainbow soon will be getting 2 signifer rainbows... but like I said I would not recomend it unless your tank is REALLY heavily planted and over filtered, plus I do weekly water changes

Ok thanks for the replies. The tank has plants that are starting to sprout and it has a good filter. I was wondering if i could get different types of tetras other than the neons? Would the different types of tetras work well together or should i stick to 6 or 8 neons?

Its probably best to stick with 1 type of tetras. That way you'll see more natural behaviour - maybe even schooling. They'll feel safer that way.

in a 10g you are not gongn to see much schooling, its just to small the little area they are in is about how big a school of them would be anyway so basically they are schooling 24/7. usually fish only school if there is a threat in the tank unless they are glass catfish they are ALWAYS together
