One thing nobody has mentioned yet...
What are your tapwater parameters? IE: pH, hardness, etc?
This would give you a good starting point as far as the fish that are best suited to your tapwater. Will be easier to maintain proper water condtions for the fish if you don't have to adjust things too much.
