Fish for 5 gallon hex

I got one of these over the holidays, and I plan on setting it up in my office. I'm either going to get a beta or a school of 5 neon tetras. Do you think 5 neons would be too much since its a tall tank rather than a wide tank?
I have a five gallon Corner Eclipse at work. I have two clumps of Java Fern that pretty much double in amount every 2-3 months. I have to throw away huge wads of the stuff. I think it's a great plant for a small tank because it gets full but not too high and it looks good in a clump on its own. The green in the tank is very pretty! I have two pristella tetras and one emerald cory cat, and they have lived for close to 3 years in there. I know, I should have more of both since they are schooling fish and I did at one point. But I figured I would let these fish live together for a while and when they died off I would restock the tank with different fish - maybe a betta or a small school of danios or tetras.
But these fish WON'T DIE! I had them in my 15high for two years, and now they've been in this tank for almost three. These two pristellas and one emerald cory cat have apparently found the fountain of youth in this little tank of mine. I don't want to get any more fish for the tank right now because I would prefer to have a school and I don't want to overstock this tank (it turns green very easily). So I wait.
The fish seem happy. The cory cat is very active, but the two tetras tend to hide in the leaves of the plant most of the time.
I would recommend getting some very hardy fish to put in the tank, because you won't be feeding them two days a week. I feed mine a very small amount twice a day, because they don't get fed on the weekends. And sometimes there is 3-day or 4-day weekends, too, so I try to make sure they're well nourished (but not overfed) when I am there to feed them.

I got a male half-moon betta -- his name is Sparky and he seems very happy. He built a large bubble nest to show his appreciation!
My mystery snail doesn't seem to appreciate him much yet, but hopefully they'll work it out. Sparky isn't really bugging him, just curiously checking him out. He's kind of like a little puppy. :dog: Very entertaining!
