At the moment i have a 3 gallon long ( 36Lx18hx12w ) with two big rocks on a play sand substrate. This week i am going to pick up some micro sword and get the tank established. I was wondering what type of fish would be suitable. I only want one type of fish to nearly eliminate the risk of disease. any ideas? preferably easy to breed and colourful.

How about a pair of Bolivian rams with lots of plants. They are colorful and fun to watch.

How about a pair of kribensis cichlid? They seem to be pretty hardy. Although, the difficulty of breeding this type of cichlid seems to vary with each person (I found it to be easy, I didn't add anything except two caves :D).
