fish for a 55gal?

Most male Jd's get 8-9" in size, though 11" isn't unheard of if kept in larger tanks. Females are smaller...in the 7-8" size when fully grown. A 55g is pretty much the bare minimum for keeping a fully grown adult male. A 8-10" fish wouldn't have too much difficulty turning around in a 55g. An oscar on the otherhand wouldn't do well at all. I do agree that a 75g would be a better choice for JD's, however. Oscars need alot more space. One adult oscar can be kept in a 75g alone but would do much better in a 90g.
