Fish For My 200g?

with a lungfish that is what your aquarium would be and nothing else. the only remotly peaceful one is a SA Lungfish and its still extremly risky to put another fish in there... just like wolffish

Take a look at my signature below, all of those fish and more would go great in that tank. Also you asked about filtration,I would recomend 2 Aquaclear 110's on that setup and some kind of cannister filter.

idk a whole lot about arowanas but could'nt you put a large cichlid in with one since arows are stay at the top of the colum and cichlids tend to stay at the bottom and middle?

Hey All,
Thanks alot for helping me, i might look into some of these. Im not sure if were able to get arrowanas? ill check with the lfs. as for lungfish we cant buy them here ! but i could catch one locally down at the river with some nets?

Do you want to set up a biotope type of tank, like a strictly Amazon tank, or just general South/Central American type fish? Arowanas and oscars are both Amazonian, you might be able to have them together if their sizes aren't too different (not sure how fast either would grow if you bought both as babies).

The Amazon offers thousands of different species to choose from. How about pirahnas? :D

You could also look into getting some Peacock Bass. I had a single in a 55 gal for about a year. Totally awesome!!! Pure hunters. 200 gal. would be plenty big for a school of 6 or so. You can get away with putting others in with them with little problems, as long as they won't fit in their mouths of course.

Hey,
Yea i want to set up an biotype. What sort of plants would be good for a amazon biotype with oscars or arowanas? We cant get Piranha!! how sucky! im not sure about pacu though.

No Body Even Mentioned Discus...They'd be great in a 200 gal tank especially planted with a couple of huge schools of tetras. They look great too....you could have quite a few in a 200gal tank too....probably 20 or so. You dont have to limit yourself with the more aggressive fish especially since they have a tendency not to get along to well with planted tanks.....just another option.

thats a really good idea too discus are beautiful
